May The Force Be With You

About three months ago, an X Wing Fighter and a TIE Fighter landed at Changi Airport, literally. Both the X Wing Fighter and TIE Fighter were at Terminal 3’s Departure Hall and Terminal 2’s Departure Hall respectively. The force had arrived, with characters including Yoda and R2-D2 touching down at one of the most amazing airports in the world. It was official from November 2015: the airport had certainly geared up to commemorate the latest Star Wars movie, The Force Awakens. From Jedis and Stormtroopers making appearances at the airport to a Star Wars Christmas tree, Changi Airport had been decked up.

It is not unusual that this airport goes all out with decorations and attractions for its visitors. In fact, Changi Airport is a destination of its own with world-class amenities, that includes five outdoor gardens and two movie theatres. The fun part about traveling to and from Changi is that there is never a dull and boring moment, which is why travelers deliberately spend additional time at this airport! The seasonal themes that it has are interesting and quickly grabs your attention. Previous themes including Spongebob Squarepants and Angry Birds had attracted travelers of all ages, attracting tons of visitors to snap pictures with their favourite characters that were life-sized.

Another theme that grabbed travellers’ attention was SG50 last year, to commemorate Singapore’s 50th year of independence in 2015. The giant durian at Terminal 2 was a wonderful sight, and durian lovers had the opportunity to pose and take pictures with the king of fruits.

Regardless of whether you’re on a journey or just hanging out, Changi Airport is a fantastic destination for all. The airport is currently geared up for the Chinese New Year, which is not to be missed if you’re at Changi.

I can’t wait for their future seasonal themes.
